stone circles and The Stone House thrive with the strength and resources of many Friends, individual supporters, and foundations who share our vision.

We are trying to create an institution that serves the needs of those whose need is the greatest and whose resources are often limited.

In our attempt at having our practical needs live into an alignment with our spiritual, ethical, and political values we base all of our program prices on either a sliding scale or dana basis.

Dana is a pali word used commonly in Buddhist circles to denote the practice that the Buddha had of offering teachings freely. Recipients of those teachers were often inspired to give back to the monastic community out of a desire to support the virtuous lives and practices that made these teachings possible. 

Every culture and religious tradition carries some spirit of this relationship at its core- though we have lost a great deal of the purity and practice of it. The Sioux practice of Wopila, the English practice of the Commons, and the concept of Mahala in South Africa are all examples of this basic human ethic of right-relationship between us all.

Outside of offerings for programs, there are many ways to contribute to the wonderful work happening here and to get involved in seeing the vision of The Stone House fulfilled.
